Troutbeck Valley, Windermere

Troutbeck is a tiny, picturesque village just 10 minutes drive from Windermere. It sits in the Troutbeck valley, which leads up to the mighty High Street range, up to the Kirkstone Pass, with Brotherswater and Ullswater beyond.

The valley is home to Limefitt Park, a lovely woodland holiday park, with the Trout Beck river winding through it, an on-site pub and children’s play area. If you love walking, views and dark skies choose Limefitt and Troutbeck for your holiday.

Troutbeck is also home to some amazing Westmorland farmhouses and buildings, not least Townend, the home belonging to the Yeoman farming family- the Brownes. The church in the village centre, Jesus Church, is a beautiful focal point and the grounds are a mass of daffodils in the spring.

Troutbeck is also home to a couple of our favourite pubs! The Queens Head on the main A592 is atmospheric, with real fires, ales and food. The Mortal Man, high up on the hill, has a fabulous beer garden with views over the valley, with great food and ales and traditional entertainment. Both pubs are dog friendly and within walking distance of our lodges at Limefitt Park.
